To all you girls making "Checklists". It doesn't work that way. I've already posted this once before on the Women for Men section, but the likelihood that women looking for men are browsing or reading the Women's section is slim to none. So for all you women out there with your remarkable lists of things a guy needs to have, do, or be. . . this is for you <3
In the beginning of my other post I flatout state that I respect a woman who knows what she wants, and that won't settle for anything less. However making a checklist is setting yourself up for failure. When a guy comes across a post and reads " You must, you need to be, you better have" it does more harm than good. All those would be great guys that would love you for who you are will fall by the wayside if they feel like they're not up to your initial checklists standard. Finding a great guy isn't based on how the man fits the critera of your "must have list". If he makes you smile or laugh, feel beautiful, cared for, is honest, and is all about you, then what should it matter if he owns his own house, what his age is, if he's allergic to dogs, knows how to ski, has a masters degree, is good at cribbage or has a 90k a year job?
How are you ever going to find some one who loves or even cares about you if they don't fit your list perfectly? Most guys are dogs and will jump through hoops and decieve you just to bypass your little filter check so they can love you and leave you. They're good too, my old man whored around a lot and had some exceptional game. I was raised young, mostly in the beginning by my mom after the divorce and it was instilled to be a better man. So in my own defense, I know how a man whore works, but not from experience. And a woman looking for something more than a 'hook up' is usually seen as a challenge to be worked over.
Maybe try not giving them a 'cheat sheet' to help them get you in bed, or staying in your apartment, or mooching off your bank account. Try corresponding more, email back and forth his interests will come out in conversation, you'll be able to better gauge if he's genuine or some douche feeling for a leg up. You don't even have to meet the person to tell if he's worth your time, isn't that why you're here in the first place?
... email the person, don't just end the conversation "do you like Country? no? well then I don't think it's going to work out." Maybe he's never heard a any good country songs, maybe you're taste in music is just what he's been missing in his life? Maybe! you're just the only person in the world that would be able to motivate or inspire him to get those things that you've always wanted... and who knows maybe he's always wanted those things too, but didn't see a point going about it alone?
If you can manage to find a guy... a decent honest guy who won't cheat on you, won't ever hurt you, will always love you, will always be there for you, will always think you're beautiful and appreciate you at your worst just as well when you're at your best... keep him that is more valuable than anything you could ever put on a list... ever.
I would be out of line to say that I am one of those guys, but I would be lying if said that I wasn't. A genuine breed of men does exist, you just over look them because they don't fit your checklist.
